We are the data controller for information collected through this website.
What we collect
- Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number, company, selected service, budget range and the message you send us through the contact form.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through analytics and used in aggregate.
- Anti-spam data — we briefly hold your IP address to rate-limit form submissions. It is not stored long term.
We do not collect special category data, and we do not ask for payment details through this website.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry — legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.
- To deliver services you have engaged us for — performance of a contract.
- To measure and improve the website — consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run the business. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and to use it only on our instructions:
- Our email delivery provider, to send and receive enquiry emails.
- Our hosting provider, which processes server logs.
- Our CRM, where enquiries are recorded and tracked.
- Our analytics provider, where you have consented to analytics.
We never sell your personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: 24 months.
- Client records: 7 years after the end of the engagement, to satisfy UK accounting requirements.
- Analytics data: 14 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@makemyapp.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
